Brett Mufson is President and Partner of Fontainebleau Development, where he oversees the firm’s investment strategy, capital structure, operating platforms, and development initiatives across its global portfolio. With more than twenty years of experience in real estate and hospitality, he has built a career at the intersection of asset creation, brand development, and complex stakeholder management.
In his current role, Mufson is responsible for evaluating and advancing large-scale development opportunities, structuring financings, and ensuring long-term asset performance. His leadership approach emphasizes disciplined capital deployment, operational execution, and the creation of destination properties designed to deliver sustained value for investors, partners, and communities. Mufson is also the CEO of Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
Before joining Fontainebleau, Mufson led acquisitions and capital markets at Witkoff, where he directed over $7 billion in hospitality, residential, multifamily, and office transactions nationwide. Earlier in his career, he worked in structured finance at Bear Stearns and later at LoanCore Capital, focusing on commercial real estate credit underwriting and portfolio origination.
Mufson holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and is actively engaged in real estate, arts, and philanthropic organizations, including the Whitney Museum and Mount Sinai Hospital. He serves as Head of the Investment Committee and a board member of Pioneer Communities and also sits on the board of Current Real Estate Advisors.
