Joshua Yam has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and web development. Joshua is currently working as a Software Engineer at Pinwheel since September 2021. Previously, they worked at New York University from September 2016 to May 2020, where they served as a Web and Media Services Technician, troubleshooting technical activities and creating scripts for various tasks. Additionally, they worked as a Network Security Teaching Assistant, conducting office hours and assisting students with Python scripting.
Joshua also gained valuable experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Roomster from June 2019 to January 2020. Here, they contributed to the development of automated testing software, significantly reducing test case time. Joshua also assisted in converting backend services from C# to Python.
As a Freelance Software Developer at Dai1 Media in June 2018 to September 2018, Joshua developed a PDF parser application using Python, following Software Development Life Cycle guidelines and an Agile workflow. This application efficiently scanned Chinese financial documents and extracted key information into a CSV file.
Earlier in their career, Joshua worked as a Web Developer Intern at Fashion Fanzine Magazine from June 2016 to June 2017. Here, they implemented responsive design and integrated the Google Publisher Tags API for advertising content.

Joshua Yam attended Hunter College High School from 2010 to 2016, where they obtained a High School Diploma. Following this, they enrolled at New York University from 2016 to 2020, majoring in Computer Science and earning a Bachelor of Science degree. In addition to their formal education, Joshua also obtained a CompTIA A+ certification from CompTIA in April 2015.
