James da Costa is a Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, focusing on investments in B2B and Enterprise AI companies since 2024. As a Co-Founder of Fingo Africa, James is dedicated to developing a pan-African neobank targeting Africa's youth, a role held since 2021. In addition, James has served as an Advisor at Pika, which is creating a foundation model for entertainment, and has been a Researcher at the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI). From 2023 to 2024, James also acted as an Investing Partner at Dorm Room Fund. Previously, James worked at McKinsey & Company as an Engagement Manager, concentrating on financial technology, corporate venture capital, and advanced analytics from 2017 to 2021. Academic credentials include an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, participation in the Y Combinator S21 cohort, a Bachelor's Degree in Economics with Study Abroad from the University of Warwick, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from HKU Business School.
