Ben Claar has a long history of professional experience. In 1981, they began their career as a Farm Hand at Claar Farms. In 1998, they became a Student System Administrator at Kansas State University, where they performed UNIX server administration and automation, Bash/Perl scripting, Solaris and Linux server administration. In 2001, they took on a role as a Web Developer at Kansas State University, where they were responsible for performing web development to implement and support 50+ professional websites, as well as handling large special IT-related projects with complex and varying requirements. In 2014, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Piestar, Inc., a cloud software service which provides collaborative data and project management as well as an RFx (Request for Proposals/Applications) review system. Ben and Aaron Schroeder created Piestar to solve the difficult reporting process faced by federally funded projects and organizations.
Ben Claar attended Kansas State University from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Music. Ben'sfield of study was Computer Science and Music.
