Tárik S. Salem has a diverse work experience, having held positions in both academia and industry. In 2020, they began working as a Machine Learning Researcher & Engineer at Picterus AS. From 2018 to 2020, they were Co-Founder & Executive Director of the Nordic Probabilistic AI School (ProbAI). From 2014 to 2018, they were a PhD Fellow at NTNU. From 2012 to 2014, they were a Software Engineer at iteratec GmbH. From 2010 to 2012, they were Co-Founder at Speculab, s. r. o. From 2006 to 2010, they were a Graphic and Web Designer while Self-Employed. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as a Network Administrator at AUTO UNI spol. s r.o. Lastly, from 2006 to 2010, they were a Software Developer at the Information Technology Center (CIV) at the University of West Bohemia.

Tárik S. Salem's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering (Information Technologies) from the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen from 2006 to 2009, a Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering (Software Engineering) from the same university from 2009 to 2012, and a study of Information Technology at SPŠE a VOŠ v Plzni from 2002 to 2006. Tárik has also obtained several certifications from Coursera, including Sequence Models (February 2018), Convolutional Neural Networks (December 2017), Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization (October 2017), Structuring Machine Learning Projects (October 2017), and Neural Networks and Deep Learning (September 2017).
