Dr. Markus Czanta

Dr. Markus Czanta, EMBA has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Dr. Markus recently served as the Chief Technology Officer at PI (Physik Instrumente) Group, where they focused on transforming the company and implementing strategic plans to enhance competitiveness. Dr. Markus also established a Global Research Organization and built external collaborations with customers, technology leaders, academia, and start-ups. Prior to this role, Dr. Czanta held the position of Vice President Research and Development at PI Group. Before joining PI Group, they worked at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany as the Director of Digital Transformation/Digitalization. In addition, Dr. Czanta has a background in marketing and technical product development, holding various roles at Merck Group, including Marketing Director and Head of Global Technical Marketing/Product Development. Dr. Markus has also worked as a Project Leader and Postdoc/Research Associate in earlier stages of their career. Overall, Dr. Markus Czanta has demonstrated expertise in organizational development, strategic planning, technology innovation, and building collaborative networks in high-tech industries.

Dr. Markus Czanta, EMBA holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from Hult Ashridge which they obtained from 2008 to 2011. Dr. Markus also completed a Certificate Management Course in Nano-Technology from IIR Verlag in 2007. Dr. Czanta pursued their PhD in Physics from Universität Siegen from 1998 to 2002. Prior to that, they obtained a Certificate Interdisciplinary Academic Studies in Environmental Science from Heidelberg University in 1997 and a Diploma in Physics from the same institution from 1991 to 1997. Additionally, Dr. Czanta had a brief period of study in Physics & Photography at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1993 to 1994.
