Laurent Giovangrandi is an accomplished Senior Principal Scientist/Engineer at Applied Cognition, focusing on the development of innovative therapeutic discovery and care delivery platforms for Alzheimer's disease since January 2023. As a co-founder of PhysioWave, Inc., Laurent has led the creation of the first FDA-cleared Pulse Wave Velocity measuring device while holding various roles including Chief Scientist and Chief Technical Officer. Previously, Laurent served as Principal Scientist/Engineer at Triple Ring Technologies, specializing in physiologic monitoring and biosensors. An extensive tenure at Stanford University included roles as Senior Researcher and Acting Assistant Professor, where research encompassed biomedical devices and electroneurophysiology. Laurent's early career involved postdoctoral research on biosensors for detecting chemical agents and a research associate position focused on silicon-based devices for screening. Laurent holds a Ph.D. in bioelectronic interfaces and microsystems and a combined BS/MS in Micro-engineering, both from EPFL.
