Matthew Booth

Research Scientist at Photanol

Matthew Booth is a Research Scientist at Photanol since March 2022, contributing to the translation of technology that converts CO2 into commodity chemicals using cyanobacteria, focusing on scaling processes from bench to pilot scale with photo-bioreactors. Prior experience includes serving as an EngD Researcher at UCL and Algenuity from September 2017 to December 2021, where Matthew developed a continuous turbidostat photo-bioreactor platform to enhance algal growth kinetics. An internship at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory in summer 2015 involved high-level coding within a multidisciplinary team, while participation as a programmer in the iGEM Competition at the University of Oxford in 2014 led to a Gold Award for a bio-remediation project targeting dichloromethane.
