Cory Perkins, PhD has a diverse work experience. In 2018, they were the Founder and CEO of nexTC Corporation, as well as the Founder of Phosio Corporation. From 2016 to 2018, they were Courtesy Faculty and Faculty Research Associate at Oregon State University. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Center for Sustainable Materials Chemistry, where they led teams of up to 10 graduate and undergraduate students and developed a rapid and scalable method to produce atomically smooth nanoporous materials for optical coatings with a patent filed. From 2009 to 2014, they were a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Oklahoma State University, where they improved uptake capacities and kinetics of heavy metals and radionuclides, developed porous materials for the sorption of heavy metals, and demonstrated methods to recover heavy metals and radionuclides in yields as high as 100%. From 2008 to 2009, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Western Oregon University, where they investigated the plausibility of a comet impacting the Earth and resulting in the extinction of Pleistocene megafauna. In 2008, they were also a Research Experience for Undergraduates at the National Science Foundation.
Cory Perkins, PhD, obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Inorganic Chemistry from Oklahoma State University between 2009 and 2014. Previously, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from Western Oregon University from 2004 to 2009. Cory also holds a High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates from McKay High School, which they obtained between 2000 and 2004. Additionally, they have an edX Honor Code Certificate for Fundamentals of Nanoelectronics: Basic Concepts from edX.
