Allison Walker has a diverse work experience in event management and operations. Allison is currently serving as the Director of Event Sales and Operations at the Philadelphia Zoo since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Comcast Spectacor Events Director at Comcast Spectacor from June 2021 to February 2022. Allison also held the position of Associate Director, University Events at Temple University from November 2017 to June 2021. Before that, they served as the Manager of Academic Events at Thomas Jefferson University East Falls Campus from November 2016 to November 2017. Allison's earlier roles include working as a Talent Assistant at the 6abc Thanksgiving Day Parade from November 2007 to November 2017, Program Manager (Contract) at Center City District from February 2016 to February 2017, and Program Manager (Contract) at Access Philadelphia from September 2015 to November 2015. Allison had a significant tenure at The ALS Association, where they started as an Events Coordinator in November 2002 and eventually became the Events Director. At The ALS Association, they managed various events, developed strategic plans, achieved budget goals, established partnerships with vendors and sponsors, and received recognition for their contributions. Allison also worked as the Events Manager at The ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter from November 2002 to July 2015. Additionally, they gained experience as an Assistant Marketing Director at Franklin Mills Mall from August 2001 to August 2002.
Allison Walker completed their Master of Education (MEd) degree in Sport Management and Leisure Studies at Temple University from 1994 to 1996. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science from Villanova University, graduating from 1991 to 1993. Allison also attended Merion Mercy Academy from 1985 to 1989 and St. Margaret's School from 1978 to 1985, although they did not obtain any degrees from these institutions.
In terms of additional certifications, Allison obtained various certifications and completed online courses. Allison achieved the Real Estate Agent certification from the PA Real Estate Board in July 2023, and the Heartsaver CPR & AED certification from the American Heart Association in March 2023. In October 2021, they also obtained the Certified Crowd Manager certification from Fire Marshall Support Services, LLC.
For professional development, Allison completed several online courses on LinkedIn. Allison completed courses such as "Unconscious Bias" in March 2021, "Jodi Glickman on Make 'Em Love You at Work" in October 2020, "Starting a Memorable Conversation" in October 2020, and "Succeeding in a New Job" in October 2020, among others.
It should be noted that no field of study is specified for the NACCO Certificate Program completed at NAACO from 2019 to 2022.
