Nora Dowd Eisenhower

Nora Dowd Eisenhower is a board member at Philadelphia Corporation for Aging. Nora has dedicated their career to fighting for the rights of older Americans.

Nora started their career as the executive director of the Mayor’s Commission on Aging. In this role, they led the development of policy and strategies to support health, safety, and security for Philadelphians ages 55 and older. Nora also operated the Senior Community Service Employment Program and APPRISE, a Medicare insurance counseling program.

Nora then became the director of the Systemic Advocacy Pro Bono Project at SeniorLAW Center. In this role, they focused on systemic advocacy and policy reform, in partnership with AARP Pennsylvania. Nora also worked closely with SeniorLAW Center’s legal staff to identify issues arising from their direct legal services that were ripe for research, policy and legislative reform and systemic advocacy.

Most recently, they served as the director of social impact at National Council on Aging. In this role, they were responsible for insuring that NCOA's standards of excellence are met in service to older Americans.

Eisenhower has been a tireless advocate for the rights of older Americans. Through their work, they have helped to improve the lives of millions of vulnerable older adults.

Nora Dowd Eisenhower attended the Antioch School of Law, where they earned their J.D. in 1982. Nora also attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where they studied social sciences and earned their degree in 1979.
