Michael Brudno

Co-founder and Chairman of the Board at PhenoTips

Michael Brudno has had a distinguished career in the field of data science, beginning with a Postdoctoral Fellowship at UC Berkeley in 2004. Michael then moved to MIT as a Visiting Scientist in 2005. In 2006, they became a Professor at the University of Toronto, and in 2011 they took on the role of Scientific Director of the Centre for Computational Medicine at The Hospital for Sick Children, where they also co-led the Canadian Centre for Computational Genomics (C3G). In 2014, they co-founded and became Chairman of the Board of PhenoTips. In 2020, they were appointed as Chief Data Scientist at the University Health Network.

Michael Brudno received their AB in Computer Science and Theirtory from the University of California, Berkeley in 2000. Michael then went on to earn their PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2004.
