Koen Semeijn is a seasoned professional in the field of bioengineering, currently serving as the Teamleader for the bioengineering team at Phase Biolabs since September 2022. This role involves advancing the development of carbon-negative chemicals and electro-fuels from carbon dioxide through fermentation, contributing to efforts in waste emissions upcycling and decarbonizing heavy industry. Prior to this, Koen Semeijn worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Sheffield from 2019 to September 2022, focusing on the molecular characterization of Myxococcus xanthus and investigating the connection between Ras-like GTPase and structural proteins. Koen Semeijn holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Sheffield, completed in 2019, and two Master's degrees in Medical Biotechnology and Organic Chemistry from Wageningen University & Research, obtained in 2014.
