Farren Isaacs

Dr. Farren Isaacs is Associate Professor of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and of Biomedical Engineering at Yale University.

Research at the Isaacs lab is focused on developing foundational genomic and cellular engineering technologies to understand natural systems and program systems with new biological function. They seek to apply these advances to address global challenges in medicine, biotechnology, and the environment.

Dr. Isaacs received a B.S.E degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, obtained his Ph.D. from the Biomedical Engineering Department and Bioinformatics Program at Boston University, and conducted postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School with George Church. Dr. Isaacs is an expert in synthetic biology and genome engineering. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Beckman Young Investigator Award and DuPont Young Professor Award.
