Daniel Barber has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Daniel started their career in 1999 with an engineering placement at Volvo Car Corporation, where they conducted research on emission testing of tires. In 1999, they also had a university research placement at the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research, conducting research on Silicon Nitride. Daniel then worked as a research scientist at LGPhilips Displays from 2001 to 2005.
In 2005, Barber joined The Perryman Company as a European Sales Executive, where they gained experience in titanium alloys and manufacturing techniques. Daniel worked their way up to become the European Sales Manager, responsible for managing accounts throughout Europe for both the medical and aerospace sectors. Daniel Barber attended Churchfields Junior School from 1986 to 1990. Daniel then went on to study at Woodbridge High School from 1990 to 1997. After completing their high school education, Daniel attended the University of Surrey from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Material Science & Engineering. Daniel continued their education at the University of Surrey from 2001 to 2005 and earned a PhD in Material Science.
