Mike Wirsch has worked in a variety of roles in the entertainment and hospitality industries. From 2010 to 2012, they were an English Teacher for EPIK, teaching English as a second language to High School Seniors, Middle School 1st and 2nd graders, and meeting with individual students in conversational settings. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Graphic and Motion Designer, Animator and Bartender for Sweet Hospitality Group, and a Bartender/Barista for Landbrot Bakery & Bar. From 2012 to 2017, they were an Artistic Associate, Resident Playwright for BIG Theatre Company, and a Gallery Attendant and Receptionist for The Noguchi Museum. In 2017, they began working as a Performer and writer for Road Pizza, one of the house sketch teams at The Peoples Improv Theater. In 2022, they began working as a Graphic Production Specialist for Performance of a Lifetime.
Mike Wirsch obtained a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Media Studies from St. John's University in 2009. In the same year, they also obtained a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification from i-to-i TEFL. In 2019, they obtained a TIPS Certification from Tips Alcohol.
