Ioannis Lionis has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Ioannis started their career as an Electronics Engineer at DYNAMIS S.A. in 2008. In 2009, they worked as an Electronics Engineer and Lab Assistant at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, focusing on experimental design and data collection. Following that, Ioannis served as a Technical Sales Representative at PNOI S.A. - Medical Devices from 2013 to 2014, where they were responsible for public tenders, equipment installation, and technical support.

In 2016, Ioannis pursued freelance work as an IT Consultant with a focus on IT infrastructure and administration, including Windows Domain Migration and change management implementation. Ioannis continued this role until 2019.

From 2014 to 2020, Ioannis worked as an Electronics Engineer at NCSR "DEMOKRITOS", specifically at the Institute of Biosciences & Applications. Ioannis contributed to the design and construction of electronic circuits, provided technical support to laboratories, and maintained and troubleshooted equipment.

Currently, Ioannis is working at Percona since 2019. Ioannis initially joined as a Junior Security Engineer, responsible for security alert response, forensic analysis, and log reviews. Ioannis has since been promoted to the position of Senior Security Engineer.

Ioannis Lionis has a diverse education history. In 2009, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electronics Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Crete. Following that, from 2010 to 2011, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Medical Physics at the University of Aberdeen.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Ioannis has also obtained certifications in the field of cybersecurity. In July 2018, they became an Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) after completing the certification program provided by Offensive Security. Furthermore, in June 2020, they received the CompTIA PenTest+ Certification from CompTIA.
