Siyuan Chen has extensive experience in various roles related to computer vision and data science. In 2003, Siyuan worked as a Research Assistant at the Center of Excellence for Document Analysis and Recognition. From 2006 to 2010, Siyuan served as a Medical Informatics Fellow at the U.S. National Library of Medicine, where they developed a prototype archiving system. Siyuan then joined Lehigh University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate from 2010 to 2010. In 2011 and 2012, Siyuan worked as a Research Scientist at Fujitsu R&D Center, developing text extraction techniques for scanned document images. From 2013 to 2015, Siyuan was a Computer Vision Research Engineer at Honda R&D Americas, Inc, contributing to the development of intelligent vision-based HMI for driving experiences. Siyuan then joined Blippar as a Senior Scientist from 2015 to 2017. From 2017 to 2020, Siyuan worked as a Computer Vision Research Engineer at Honda Innovations, where they accelerated innovation through technology scouting and evaluation. Siyuan later joined Abbott as a Senior Data Scientist in 2020, and their most recent role is as a Senior Scientist at percipient.ai since 2021.
Siyuan Chen obtained a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo, where they studied from 2001 to 2006. Prior to that, Siyuan completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Dalian University of Technology, where they attended from 1996 to 2000.
