Phathu Muthelo is a scientist at Pelago Bioscience AB since September 2022, with prior experience as a doctoral student at Uppsala Universitet from May 2016 to April 2022, focusing on developing and optimizing molecular assays for nucleic acids and protein detection. Earlier, Phathu served as a researcher at the Nanotechnology Innovation Centre from February 2013 to May 2015, investigating nanotechnology applications in cancer and HIV diagnostics and therapeutics. Additional experience includes a junior researcher position at the Institute for Microbial Biotechnology and Metagenomics in 2012 and biotechnology studies at the University of the Western Cape from February 2008 to June 2012. Phathu holds a Ph.D. in Medical Science from Uppsala University.
