Sushma Nuthakki's work experience includes serving as a Medical Director of Quality Initiatives and a Neonatologist at Pediatrix Medical Group since October 2018. Sushma is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Houston since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine from September 2013 to September 2018 and at Nationwide Children's Hospital/The Ohio State University from October 2010 to 2013.

Sushma Nuthakki completed their Fellowship in Neonatology at Nationwide Children's Hospital/The Ohio State College of Medicine from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, they pursued their Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Western Kentucky University from 2002 to 2004.
