Cameron McLean

SVP, Europe & Australia Enterprise at PayPal

Cameron McLean leads PayPal’s international business across 177 markets, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America. In his role as Senior Vice President, Europe and Australia Enterprise and Growth Markets, Cameron is responsible for PayPal’s commercial growth in some of the world’s largest and most dynamic economies, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Brazil, China, India, Japan and Mexico.

With over 20 years’ experience as a senior executive at leading technology and financial services organizations, Cameron has played a key role in driving strong business performance across a range of global markets.

Cameron joined PayPal through the acquisition of VeriSign Payment Services in 2005 and has since held a series of leadership roles at the company. He served as Managing Director and then Vice President of the United Kingdom, before adding Germany, Austria and Switzerland to his leadership remit. In 2018, he was appointed Vice President and Commercial Officer for PayPal’s largest markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and Canada. Last year, Cameron also assumed leadership responsibility for PayPal’s large enterprise customer segment globally.

In addition to his work at PayPal, Cameron serves as Chairperson of Localz, a micro-location and mobile technology start-up. He has served as a Non-Executive Director on several technology company boards including Active Concepts, GetOptics and Amplience.

Cameron graduated from the Australian National University in Canberra with a Master of Management (Technology) degree and holds Bachelor of Business degrees in Banking and Finance, as well as International Trade from Monash University in Melbourne. Cameron is a keen sportsman and, in his youth, he captained his state in rugby union and played representative rugby for Australia at Schools and University levels.
