John Lumpkin

John Lumpkin has had a varied and successful career. Starting in 1997, they were a Staff Writer for the Albuquerque Journal. In 2001, they became a Reporter for The Associated Press, where they covered the Pentagon, Central Intelligence Agency and Department of Homeland Security. In 2006, they became a Senior Fellow for GlobalSecurity.org and also began their career as an Author. In 2008, they became an Journalism Instructor at Metropolitan State College of Denver and in 2009, they became an Instructor and Research Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder, teaching public affairs reporting, feature writing, and contemporary mass media studies to undergraduates while earning their PhD. In 2015, they became the CEO of Pavonis Interactive, overseeing the design and production of Terra Invicta PC video game and previously leading a team creating downloadable content for the XCOM 2 video game.

John Lumpkin earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder between 2009 and 2015. John also completed a B.S. in News-Editorial Journalism from Texas Christian University between 1991 and 1995.
