Jonathan Miner is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Chief Research Engineer at PiRail since 2016, focusing on budget-friendly analysis for local railroads using advanced technologies like GPS, IMU, and LIDAR. Jonathan has held various positions at BAE Systems since 2001, progressing from System Administrator to Senior Principal Software Engineer, while also dedicating support to computerized systems. In addition to engineering roles, Jonathan has been a PSIA Level III Alpine Ski Instructor at Pats Peak Ski Area since 1984, teaching skiing to individuals of all ages and abilities. Prior experience includes serving as Track Foreman and Freight Conductor at New England Southern Railroad, emphasizing customer service and track inspections. Jonathan's early career included positions as a Systems Analyst at Lockheed Martin and a Software Engineer at Sanders (Lockheed-Martin). Jonathan earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire between 1987 and 1996.
