Gowri Raman

Associate Director, Engagement, Dissemination And Implementation (emerging Healthcare Interventions) at Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute

Gowri Raman has a diverse work experience in the field of healthcare research and management. Gowri is currently serving as the Associate Director of New Healthcare Technology Engagement at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). In this role, they are responsible for strategic decision making, monitoring of funded projects, and advancing PCORI's mission. Prior to this, Gowri worked as a Senior Program Officer at PCORI, where they provided expertise and knowledge sharing for Comparative Clinical Effectiveness Research (CER) projects.

Before joining PCORI, Gowri worked at Tufts Medical Center as a Project Director and Scientific Staff member. Gowri led and managed the development of evidence synthesis products at the Tufts Center for Clinical Evidence Synthesis and established collaborations with funders and businesses, leading to several contract awards.

Gowri's career also includes a role as an Assistant Professor at Tufts School of Medicine, where they contributed to teaching and research activities. Gowri also served as an Assistant Director at Tufts Evidence Practice Center, where they conducted outcomes studies, developed research project plans, and represented the center in national level coverage decision meetings.

Gowri's early career includes a position as a Clinical Research Fellow at the Sackler School of Biomedical Sciences, where they collaborated with international work-groups to develop clinical practice guidelines and designed an in-house web-based database for emerging genomic tests. Gowri also worked as a Research Assistant/Associate at Nephrology, New England Medical Center Inc/Tufts EPC, where they conducted research and assisted in various projects.

Overall, Gowri Raman has gained extensive experience in healthcare research, evidence synthesis, program management, and strategic decision making throughout their career.

Gowri Raman started their education by obtaining an MBBS (Medical Doctor) degree in Medicine and Surgery from Thanjavur Medical College. Gowri then pursued further specialization in Internal Medicine and obtained a Diplomate of National Board of Exams (Primary) from Hindustan Aeronautics Hospital Ltd. Later, they attended Tufts University from 2008 to 2010, where they earned a Master's Degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Health Services Research. In 2022, they enrolled in Harvard Business School Online and completed a Certificate in Leadership Principles.
