Elena Gil-Chang has worked in various roles in design and research since 2006. Elena began their career as a Design Intern at Artech Design Group, Inc. in 2006, followed by a Writing Tutor and Writing Workshop at Williams College in 2006. In 2008, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Taiwan National Theirtory Museum. From 2009-2018, they worked as a Freelance Designer and then joined Plaid in 2018 as a Design Manager / Brand Design Lead. At Plaid, they managed a team of brand designers, illustrators, and motion designers and focused on change management while coaching the team through the expansion of the design system and changes to the brand design team organization. In 2022, they joined Patch as a Lead Visual Designer.
Elena Gil-Chang attended the American School of Madrid from 2003 to 2005. Elena then attended Williams College from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a BA in Art Theirtory & Studio Art. In 2008, they also attended the Harbin Institute of Technology. After graduating from Williams College, they attended IED Madrid from 2009 to 2010, where they studied Total Design.
