Josue Montenegro has worked in a variety of roles since 2006. Josue began their career as an English Spanish Translator for True Professional Services. In 2013, they took on the role of Homeroom Teacher for John Osteen School. In 2014, they became a Front Desk Attendant for UCSB Housing and Residential Services. In 2016, they were a Student Assistant at UCSB Library. In 2017, they worked as a Research Assistant at Theoretical and Applied Neurocausality Laboratory, where they programmed automated solutions for experiments and restructured a Matlab program. That same year, they also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Procore Technologies, where they split indexing and deletion tasks into different Sidekiq workers and developed a React Native app. In 2018, they worked as a Software Developer at Novacoast, providing consulting and software development services to customers. Josue also developed a web app to automate complex scheduling, incident response, and network monitoring. In 2022, they began working as a Software Engineer for PartnerSlate.

Josue Montenegro obtained their High School Diploma from Montebello Academy in 2012. Josue then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara, which they completed in 2018. In September 2020, they earned the Okta Certified Professional certification from Okta, Inc.
