Dr. Jacob Medupe, PhD, currently serves as a Content Advisor for the Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies at the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, where responsibilities include providing strategic advice, assisting with the oversight program, and ensuring quality control of committee outputs since July 2022. Previously, Dr. Medupe held the position of Research Group Leader at the Meraka Institute, CSIR, from August 2017 to September 2022, and served as a Compliance and Complaint Committee Member for ICASA from November 2014 to September 2022. Other notable roles include Content Advisor for the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa from November 2015 to July 2017, Chief Executive Officer at Theatron Investments, and Head of Operations at Sentech. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Information and Communication Technology from Nelson Mandela University and an MBA from North-West University, among other degrees.
