Avelyn Nicol is an experienced environmental services manager currently working at Parkland County since June 2019, where roles include Manager of Environment Services and committee member for Community Sustainability, River Valley Alliance, and Economic Diversification. Previously, Avelyn served as a Senior Environmental Advisor at the City of Spruce Grove (May 2022 - August 2023) and held various senior positions at Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development between 2008 and 2013, where Avelyn led the development of conservation tools and policies. Avelyn's earlier roles included senior policy advisor at Alberta Environment, senior program/policy planner at Alberta Parks, and program planner for the Special Places Program. Avelyn holds a B.Sc. in Environmental and Conservation Science from the University of Alberta, along with several certificates in management and conflict management.
