Thomas Deschamps currently serves as the Director of the Economic Observatory of Tourism, Sustainable Development, and Accessibility at the Office du Tourisme et des Congrès de Paris, a position held since December 2007. In this role, Thomas focuses on producing, collecting, and analyzing data to describe tourism activity in Paris and the Grand Paris area. Prior to this, Thomas worked at ODIT France from April 2003 to November 2007, contributing to the development of a statistical model for foreign tourist traffic based on highway toll transactions and overseeing the placement of secondary residences in France. Earlier experience includes working as an expert at Planistat Luxembourg from December 1999 to April 2003, where Thomas compiled the EU-15 balance of payments and authored "Statistics in Focus" while engaging with the OECD. Thomas holds a Master 2 in Tourism and Culture from IREST and a Maîtrise in Business Management from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.
