Joan McCabe is currently the Chairman and CEO of Lipotriad, LLC (“Lipotriad”), a woman-owned business, certified by both WBENC and NWBOC, that focuses on manufacturing and marketing vitamins for the prevention of macular degeneration and for general eye health.
Prior to purchasing Lipotriad, Joan was engaged for over 30 years in the financial services industry, both as an investment banker and in private equity. From 1998 until 2015, Joan was a Managing Partner at Brynwood Partners, a $1 billion private equity firm focused on purchasing and growing consumer businesses. Between 1981 and 1998, Joan worked as an investment banker. She was one of the first investment bankers on Wall Street to develop an industry-focused practice in the consumer space, and is credited with coining the term “These Orphans Need to be Adopted”. Joan has been a frequent speaker on the financial and private equity industries, including The Capital Roundtable and the Association for Corporate Growth.
Joan graduated from Yale College cum laude in 1977 and graduated from the Harvard Business School in 1981 as a Century Scholar. She is active at Harvard Business School as a fundraising agent, and served on the HBS Alumni Board. She also served on the Harvard Alumni Association Board as its representative from HBS.
Joan currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Goodwill International, where she is Finance Chair. She also is doing work internationally to help bring filtered water to elementary schools in Cambodia.
