Kim K. Hixson

Kim K. Hixson, PhD, is a Senior Data Scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, specializing in data visualization, analytics, and AI/ML modeling across various datasets in environmental research, agriculture systems biology, biological threat prediction, and atmospheric radiation monitoring. With significant contributions to numerous DOE, NASA, and NIH proposals, Kim has served as principal investigator on three lab-level LDRDs and is the lead author on over 60 peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Analytical Science, Kim has managed a special topic on Plant-Microbe OMICs, overseeing editorial duties and final paper decisions. Recently, Kim provided plant expertise to the Biological Systems Science Division of the U.S. Department of Energy, participating in grant reviews and advisory committee meetings. Kim holds a PhD in Molecular Plant Sciences and has advanced degrees in Chemistry from Washington State University and Eastern Oregon University.
