Kathryn Wouk, PhD MS IBCLC, currently serves as an Associate Research Scientist at the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation since October 2021 and holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since August 2015. Kathryn has extensive experience in maternal and child health, having worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute while also contributing to significant projects aimed at improving maternity care practices across the Carolinas. Previous roles include serving as a Research Assistant at the same institute, a Clinical Nutritionist with Community Healthcare Network, and working as a Basic Sanitation Volunteer with the Peace Corps. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Maternal and Child Health and Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MS in Nutrition Science and Policy from Tufts University, and a BA in Foreign Affairs and Spanish from the University of Virginia.
