Thresa Giles has over 30 years of work experience in various financial and business roles. Thresa'smost recent position was as the Chief Financial/Business Officer at Pace Center for Girls, where they oversaw finance, budgeting, forecasting, investments, and procurement. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Vice President of Financial Services at Edison Learning, where they saved the company approximately $1.7 million through the implementation of a unified finance system. Thresa also oversaw the IPO and SEC reporting procedure for a possible public offering. Thresa has also worked as the Chief Business Officer/CFO at Duval County Public Schools, where they raised $148 million in municipal bonds and implemented a fair distribution of resources to all schools. Thresa has held various other financial and leadership roles throughout their career, including positions at Christina School District, State of Delaware, Wilmington Housing Authority, PNC Investment Bank, and WSFS Bank. Thresa has a strong background in financial management, investment, and strategic planning.
Thresa Giles' education history starts with their earning a High School Diploma in General studies from Paducah Tilghman in 1983. Thresa then pursued a Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting from Murray State University, completing it in the period of 1984-1988. Thresa went on to earn an MBA in Statistical Management from Wilmington University between 1994 and 1996. During the same period, they also obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Management from the same institution. In 2003-2005, Thresa attended Duke University, where they earned a Certification in Executive Leadership. Finally, in 2014-2015, they studied Finance with a specialization in CFO Strategic Partner at The Wharton School.
