Steffan Herselman is an experienced mining professional currently serving as General Manager of Underground Operations at Oyu Tolgoi LLC since September 2023. Prior to this role, Steffan held various leadership positions at Rio Tinto from January 2018, including General Manager of Underground Operations for Oyu Tolgoi and Chief Mining Engineer for Underground operations. Steffan's professional background includes significant experience at The De Beers Group of Companies, where roles ranged from Senior Strategic Business Planning Manager to Mining Engineer, and earlier at AngloGold Ashanti as a Mining Engineer. Steffan holds a GDE in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and a BTech in Mining Engineering from the University of Johannesburg.
