Alison Van de Berghe has a diverse work experience in the marketing and business development field, with a focus on social impact, female and minority-owned wine and hospitality brands. Alison is the Founder of AVDB, a team of marketing and business development strategists that provides full-service support to hospitality and wine brands. Alison has also worked as a Marketing Consultant at Oyster Sunday, where they established strategic partnerships to support independent restaurants and small food and beverage companies. Additionally, they have held roles in partnership and business development at Kevin Zraly, marketing and business development consulting at Chufly Imports, and business development advising at VIN SOCIAL, a woman-founded online marketplace connecting consumers and corporate clients to sommeliers and small-batch winemakers. Prior to these experiences, Alison worked as a Hospitality and Marketing Manager and later as a Marketing Manager at Kingston Family Vineyards. Alison also has freelanced at The Infatuation and served as an Account Executive at MMGY Wagstaff, where they focused on storytelling in the food and beverage space and contributed significantly to new business. Alison began their career as an Assistant Account Executive at Ogilvy Public Relations, specializing in sustainability communications and brand purpose. Alison also worked as a Production Assistant at Long Story Short Media.
Alison Van de Berghe holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in International Affairs with a concentration in International Politics and a minor in Journalism from The George Washington University, which they completed from 2011 to 2015. In 2013, they also attended Sciences Po, where they studied Political Science for a brief period. Prior to their university education, Alison obtained a high school diploma from Fairfield Warde High School, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Alison has obtained several certifications, including Introduction to Corporate Finance and Introduction to Financial Accounting from The Wharton School, which they acquired in May 2020. In August 2018, they also earned a WSET Level 2 certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
