Jack Suitor, PhD, has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and genetic engineering. Jack currently serves as a Biologics Development Scientist at Oxford Nanopore Technologies since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a member of the University of Edinburgh undergraduate iGEM team in 2017, where they designed and tested a toolbox of Site-Specific Recombinases (SSRs) for genetic engineering. The team's work received a gold medal at the iGEM conference and was nominated for Best Innovation in Measurement. Jack also gained research experience as a Research Intern at Curran Group Trinity College in 2016, where they focused on synthesizing and analyzing Tungsten bis-alkyne complexes, which was published in the Journal of Organometallics.

Jack Suitor, PhD, completed their education in the field of biotechnology. From 2014 to 2018, they pursued a Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc Hons) degree in Biology with a specialization in Biochemistry at The University of Edinburgh. Subsequently, they undertook a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biotechnology at both The University of Edinburgh and the Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland from 2018 to 2022.
