Stephen has served as interim chief executive of NHS Confederation since 2016. He was also previously chief executive of the NHS Confederationā€™s Mental Health Network for three and a half years as well as chief executive of Cumbria Partnership Foundation Trust.

A former mental health nurse, Stephen has been associated with the NHS for over 40 years.
