Hugh Soong is currently the Head of Engineering at Ownr. Prior to this, they were with RBC Ventures and Deloitte Digital, where they served as a manager.

Soong has extensive experience in product strategy, user experience design, and software development. Hugh has worked with clients all over the world to deliver world-class experiences and solve business challenges. Some of their notable accomplishments include conceptualizing, designing, building, and launching sonnet.ca - Canada's first online-only insurance company - and designing and prototyping a next-gen digital small business insurance concept that has been used by clients in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific regions.

Soong began their career as an intern with the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan in 2008 before interning with Deloitte in 2009 as a Business Technology Analyst. Hugh then went on to join Deloitte Digital in 2010, where they spent 8 years before moving to their current role at Ownr.

Hugh Soong received their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Distinction from Ivey Business School at Western University. Hugh also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

They work with Shane Murphy - Chief Operating Officer, Zaeem Sarwar - Chief Marketing Officer, and Travis Houlette - Head of Product. Hugh Soong reports to Shadi McIsaac, CEO & Co-Founder.
