Sidra Ellis has extensive work experience in the field of scientific research and laboratory management. Sidra is currently working as a Bio-Sample Operations Manager at Our Future Health UK since June 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Laboratory Manager at Imperial College London from November 2019 to June 2022.
Before joining Imperial College London, Sidra worked as a Higher Scientific Officer at The Institute of Cancer Research from January 2015 to November 2019. In this role, they were responsible for implementing molecular strategies and performing lab management duties in a research group focusing on clinical trials for Myeloma.
Sidra also has experience working as a Research Assistant at the Medical Research Council from February 2014 to January 2015. Their work in this role involved transgenic modeling of Prion disease at the Prion Unit based at the Institute of Neurology, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
Additionally, Sidra has worked as a Forensic DNA Analyst at LGC Forensics from September 2011 to February 2014. In this position, they performed DNA profiling on evidence items for police forces from across the U.K.
Sidra Ellis obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Forensic Science from the University of Central Lancashire, where they studied from 2006 to 2009. Sidra then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in DNA Profiling at the same university from 2010 to 2011. In addition to their academic qualifications, Sidra has obtained several certifications, including the CybSafe Certification in Security Awareness from CybSafe in November 2022, the NEBOSH General Certificate from RRC International in February 2022, the Radiation Protection Supervisor certification from Imperial College London in March 2021, the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) certification from The Institute of Cancer Research in February 2019, the Human Tissue Act (HTA) certification from the Medical Research Council in April 2021, and the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification from The Institute of Cancer Research in September 2019.
