Patricia Dougherty has an extensive and varied work experience. Patricia began their career in 1979 as a Registered Nurse at the Mayo Clinic. In 1981, they moved to Prairie Medical Clinic as a Nurse Manager. In 1985, they joined the US Army Nurse Corps as a Commissioned Officer. In 1986, they became a Critical Care Registered Nurse at Waltham-Weston Medical Center. In 1988, they joined Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center as a Director of Human Resources, Employment Manager, Nurse Recruiter, and CCU RN. In 2003, they moved to Sanford Health as the Vice President of Human Resources. In 2005, they became the Owner of The Weston Group, a professional services firm that develops and implements people strategies to support the achievement of both short and long-term business goals. Finally, in 2019, they became the Director of Human Resources at Orthopedic Institute.
Patricia Dougherty attended the University of South Dakota from 1977 to 1979, where they earned an Associate Degree in Nursing. Patricia then attended Excelsior University from 1986 to 1987, and earned a Bachelor of Science. Finally, they attended Boston University from 1987 to 1988 for various coursework.
