Melissa Smiles, M.S., has extensive experience in market access and reimbursement, currently serving as the Director of Market Access and Reimbursement at Orthofix since August 2014. In this role, Melissa oversees strategies for Enabling Technologies, Spinal Implants, Biologics, Bone Growth Therapies, and Orthopedics, managing global Government Accounts, including Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense medical centers. Previously, Melissa held positions at Orthofix as Senior Manager of Payer Relations and Corporate Accounts Manager, where responsibilities included expanding payer coverage and enhancing competitive health plan contracts. Prior experience includes business development and public relations roles at UF Health. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a Master of Science in Business Management from the University of Florida.
