Mark Varley has over nine years of professional experience in the biopharmaceutical and medical industries. Mark began their career in 2012 as a Clinical Scientist at St Georges Healthcare NHS Trust, where they introduced new software and improved experimental techniques. In the same year, they also began working as a Supervisor (Tutoring) at the University of Cambridge. In 2016, they transitioned to Cambridge Design Partnership as a Mechanical Engineer, where they worked on the design and engineering of medical products for clients. In 2017, they joined Sartorius Stedim Biotech as a Technical Lead, where they oversaw the whole development process and provided technical oversight and direction for new products and features. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Ori Biotech as a Senior Manager Hardware.

Mark Varley has obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Open University, which they are currently enrolled in and is expected to complete in 2022. Prior to this, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Cambridge in 2016, with a field of study in Engineering. Mark also obtained an Engineerā€™s Degree from the University of Cambridge in 2012, with a field of study in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. In 2018, they obtained a Chartered Engineer certification from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
