Pericles Lagonikos

Associate Vice President, External Manufacturing API Operations at Organon

Pericles Lagonikos has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Pericles started their career in 1987 as an Associate/Junior/Senior Engineer at the Schering-Plough Research Institute and held various engineering positions, including Principal Engineer and Senior Principal Engineer. In 2002, they became the Associate Director of Process Engineering at the institute, leading a group of chemical engineers responsible for process development and scale-up. From 2005 to 2009, they served as the Director of Chemical Development Services, directing the activities of process engineering and strategic sourcing groups. In 2009, they joined Merck & Co. as the Director of Process Engineering, Sourcing and Development Services, overseeing process development and process safety for individual projects and managing strategic sourcing and materials management. Pericles then moved up to become an Executive Director in 2014, responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise for commercial manufacturing operations. Currently, they are working at Organon as an Associate Vice President, External Manufacturing API Operations, focusing on external manufacturing operations.

Pericles Lagonikos obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where they studied from 1980 to 1985. Pericles later pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the same institution, graduating in 1987.
