Deedra McClearn is an experienced consultant on science and research at the Organization for Tropical Studies, a position held since 2020. Previously, McClearn served as a Faculty Fellow for DukeEngage at Duke University from 2017 to 2019. Between October 2012 and January 2017, McClearn was the Director of Academic Program Development at Duke University and also held the same title at Duke Kunshan University. From July 2005 to January 2011, McClearn directed the La Selva Biological Station for the Organization for Tropical Studies. McClearn holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biology from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science in animal behavior from UC Berkeley and Harvard University.
