James C. Giddens, Jr., MS EDM-FSA, currently serves as Battalion Chief/NREMT, Emergency Manager, and Chaplain for the City of Isle of Palms Fire Department since January 2003. In addition to this role, James is the Worship Pastor at Crowfield Baptist Church since May 2022 and a member of the Order of the Sword and Shield since July 2021. Previously, James was the Owner/CEO of Giddens Risk Management, LLC from February 2021 to February 2023, where a three-pronged approach was utilized for emergency management. James started their career as a Fire Fighter with St. Andrews PSD from August 2001 to January 2003. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Emergency and Disaster Management with a specialization in Fire Science Administration from Saint Leo University, a Bachelor of Arts in Disaster and Emergency Management from Columbia College (SC), and coursework at Trident Technical College.
