Wally Avelar

Wally Avelar has a diverse and extensive work experience, spanning several industries and roles. Wally began their career as a Computer & Materials Manager at Carling Technologies, Inc. in 1988, where they played a key role in developing and implementing an online Statistical Processes Controls (SPC) system to enhance product quality and production efficiency. After five years, they joined General Instrument Corp. as a Project Manager, overseeing the maintenance of inventory accuracy and leading the ISO 9000 certification process.

In 1997, Wally moved to Seymour Housewares as a Materials Manager, where they successfully coordinated the transfer of production lines and improved on-time delivery rates. Wally also designed and implemented warehouse space and rack structures to optimize material handling. Following their tenure at Seymour Housewares, Wally joined The University of Texas at Brownsville as a Systems Analyst in 1998. During their time there, they significantly expanded the alumni database and implemented online donation and registration systems. Wally also played a crucial role in the selection and implementation of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge CRM software.

Most recently, Wally has been associated with ORC Industries, Inc. since 2013. Wally initially served as a Production & Warehouse Manager, responsible for overseeing operations from 2013 to 2016. Wally then advanced to the role of Manager of Operations, and currently holds the position of Vice President as of October 2021.

Wally Avelar attended University of Texas at Brownsville from 2007 to 2010, earning a degree in Business Administration (AABA). Prior to that, they attended Texas Southmost College from 1979 to 1982.
