Stephanie Peterson, MD, currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Optum, a position held since March 2015, where responsibilities include overseeing clinical risk model operations, engaging with external stakeholders, and ensuring operational excellence while driving clinical quality initiatives. With over 13 years of clinical practice experience and board certification in internal medicine, Stephanie has a strong background in managed care and Medicaid. Previous experience includes serving as a senior internal medicine physician and quality leader at Kaiser Permanente from August 2006 to March 2015, managing a primary care panel of 2,200 patients. Stephanie is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont.
