Renée McAlpin is a global education professional with extensive experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to drive program design, implementation, and strategic partnerships with non-profit, government, and private sector stakeholders.
As part of the Education Finance leadership team, Renée leads the global strategy, design, and implementation of the EduQuality Program partnering with 1,800 schools in 10 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Renée also oversees the management of a multi-disciplinary field team of 50 education specialists, product developers, and project management staff who drive improvements in the conditions for learning in the low-cost non-state school sector through professional development of school leaders and teachers, and school quality assessment and school development planning.
Prior to joining the EduFinance team, Renée was the project manager overseeing the Skills for a Changing World at the Brookings Institution’s Center for Universal Education, and managed BRAC USA’s education and adolescent development programs in Africa and Asia as a senior associate. Renée was also an English Language Teacher in Cameroon while serving with the United States Peace Corps.
Renée received her MA from Teachers College at Columbia University in International Education Development, and a double BA from Florida State University in Political Science and International Affairs. Renée is based in New York City.
