Shannon Bard is the current advisor at Open Ocean Robotics. Shannon has worked in various aspects of the environmental field for over 20 years. Shannon has a degree in Environmental Science from the University of British Columbia. Shannon's experience includes working at the Vancouver Aquarium, Genome British Columbia, and Ausenco & Hemmera.

Shannon Bard has a Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a Diplome de l'université in Marine Biotechnology and Biochemistry from Nantes Université. Shannon also has a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Stanford University, where they received the Firestone Medal for Research Excellence. Shannon is also certified by the College of Applied Biology as a Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio).
