Karen Knopf is an experienced financial management consultant specializing in the not-for-profit sector, with a strong background in financial system analysis, audit preparation, and budget development. Since 2006, Karen has provided strategic counsel through Karen Knopf MBA CGA. Concurrently, as a Finance and Accounting Specialist at IFEX since 2009, Karen has contributed significant expertise to the organization. Prior to current roles, Karen served as Controller at the First Ontario Labour Sponsored Investment Fund from 1995 to 2006, playing a crucial role in the Fund's growth from $2M to $65M by developing financial reports, establishing internal controls, and managing contracts. Earlier experience includes the position of Business Administrator at the Ontario Worker Co-op Federation from 1993 to 1995, where foundational infrastructure was established for the organization. Karen holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the Schulich School of Business, as well as a B.A. in History and Philosophy from The University of British Columbia.
